Can I set up an account for someone else?
Recognised advertising and PR agencies can set up an account for a client, but we will charge the advertising agency. You can only set up an account if you - or your company - are paying for the advertising (See "Agencies") |

The Network |

What is the network?
Live!Ads are shown on a wide range of sites in the UK. Currently there are about 500 sites in the network. These range from general search and shopping sites to specialist information sites. A full list can be found on the "Directory" page. |

Where on the page will my ads appear?
Advertisers are listed in the "Featured Sites" section. Advertisements are rotated to ensure that all advertisers get equal coverage. On most page we also back-fill the Featured Sites spaces. Back-fill ads NEVER appear above paid advertisements and are not included in the rotation. |

What are back-fill ads?
Back-fill ads are ads which are served randomly to avoid having empty space in the Featured Sites area. You can spot these because they may not be as relevant to the page content as other ads. Paid advertisers ALWAYS appear above this back-fill.

What are the Featured Sites at the top of the page?
We serve up to three featured sites at the very top of the page. In the future we may charge a premium for this space, but for now we include this space in the rotation of ads. So if you are buying a Live!Ad, your ad will appear in this section in rotation with other paid for ads. Back-fill ads do not appear in the top Featured Sites section.

Targeted Advertising |

What is Targeted Advertising?
On selected sites, Live!Ads allows you to target your advertising to specific pages within some sites. This is known as Targeted Advertising. |

How do I include a specific page in my campaign?
Every page that is available through Targeted Advertising is listed here and has a unique pre-defined keyword associated with it. Include that keyword in your campaign and your ad will be served on the targeted page you chose. |

If I target my ads to a specific page will my ad appear anywhere else?
They might, but there is no extra charge for this. Each page included in the Targeted Advertising scheme has a keyword combination associated with it. It is possible that users might use the same combination of words when they are searching elsewhere on the network. If this happens, your ad will be shown on the search site. But remember, you are not charged an extra for this additional exposure. |

Can I have search keywords and Targeted Advertising in the same campaign?
Yes you can. You might like your ad to be shown on a specialist site but also have your ad shown on search sites across the network when people search for the product or service you sell. All you have to do is include the pre-defined keyword combination for the pages you want in your campaign as well as any keywords that you think people will be using to search for the products you sell. |

Which sites offer Targeted Advertising and why?
Some sites in our network are made up of static pages where the content is written on a page by page basis. Many advertisers like to be listed here because this content is often very specific and the users of the site are looking for exactly the product or service they offer. You can find a list of the Targeted Advertising sites on the Keyword Help page.
Each page within a site offering Targeted Advertising will be unique and provides users with very specific information. Advertisers can choose many pages within a site or they can just select one. Select the pages that are most relevant to your product or service |

Can I select Targeted Advertising pages from different sites in the same campaign?
Yes you can. As long as you are electing to show your ad on relevant pages, you are able to show your ad on as many pages and as many sites as you like. Remember however that you will not be able to change the ad copy. If you want to show different ads on different pages, you will need to set up separate campaigns.

What does Targeted Advertising cost?
Targeted Advertising is charged just like any other campaign within Live!Ads. You are charged full price for the first page you select and are then charged at the lower additional keywords rate for all subsequent pages.(See Pricing page for details) |

Does it cost more to have Targeted Ads and Search keywords in the same campaign?
No. As with all campaigns, we will charge you full price for the first term and then all subsequent keywords you choose – including those associated with Targeted Advertising pages – are charged at the very reduced additional keywords rate. |

Setting Up and Managing a Campaign |

What format do the ads take?
Headline, copy, visible URL and link URL. For example:

Is a keyword just one word?
A keyword can be a word or a phrase. |

Can I use a keyword more than once?
No. You can only use a keyword once in an account. If you want to promote another site using an identical keyword, you will need to set up a separate Live!Ads account. |

Do I need to include plurals as well as singulars in my campaign?
No. If you buy the keyword "door" we will assume you also mean the word "doors" and will show your ad. |

Are there any restrictions on what I can say in an ad?
We have Editorial Guidelines which must be adhered to. Ads that do not comply with the Guidelines may be removed. |

Do I have to wait for campaigns to be approved before they go live?
No. Campaigns go live immediately. But all ads are reviewed by the Editorial team. |

Can I edit keywords once a campaign is live?
No. If you want to add a keyword to a campaign after it is live, you would have to set up a new campaign. |

Can I set a campaign to keep going until I stop it?
Yes. Tick the Auto Renew box when you set up the campaign. Payment will automatically be made from your FuturePay account each month. |

How do I cancel an auto-renewal?
Go to "Manage My Campaigns" and open the campaign in which you want to cancel the auto-renew. Then just untick the auto-renewal box and press "Submit". |

How long can a campaign run for?
You can set your campaign to run in multiples of one month for up to 12 months. You are required to pay at the time of order, but the price does not go up even if the pricing tier associated with that keyword increases during that period. |

Managing Your URLs |
 |
Why do I have to wait for my URL to be approved?
We manually approve account registrations and URL submissions so that we can ensure that advertisers meet our usage criteria. However, this prior approval does mean that new campaigns can go live immediately. |

I want to change the destination URL for a live campaign. Will it need to be re-approved?
Yes it will. The campaign will be suspended until the new URL has been approved. We do endeavour to approve URLs as quickly as we can. |

I'm only changing the URL people see on the ad - why is that re-appraised?
We need to make sure that the URL users see on your ad matches the destination URL that users will be taken to. This protects our users and other advertisers. |

Pricing |

What do Live!Ads cost?
We charge per keyword per month and charge a small premium for more popular keywords. Please see the "Pricing" page for current prices. |

What do additional keywords cost?
Within the same campaign, additional keywords are charged at one third of the price of the initial keyword. Please see the "Pricing" section for details. |

What happens if the price of a keyword in my campaign increases during the campaign period?
Your price is fixed for the duration of your booking at the time you make your booking. Even if a keyword becomes more popular, your price cannot change. (See "How long can a campaign run for?").
However, if the price has changed, the new price will be reflected in the costs when you come to renew. |

What is a FuturePay account?
If you elect to renew your campaign automatically each month, we will ask you to authorise a small change to your WorldPay account. This means that we can take payments without you having to submit your credit card details each time.
It also means that if you want to add further campaigns (whether they are auto-renewing or not), you won't need to re-enter your credit card details. |

If I stop a campaign early, do I get a refund?
We do not offer refunds on campaigns, but you can delete a campaign at any time to ensure that it is no longer shown.

How do I pay for my Live!Ads?
Advertisers pay by credit card via WorldPay. You don't need to have an existing WorldPay account and it's as quick as paying for any online purchase with a credit card. |

Why is Checkout highlighted in Red?
This indicates that you have yet to pay for a campaign. The campaign will not go live until it has been paid for. |

Do you issue VAT invoices?
We attach a VAT invoice to your email confirmation once you have paid. You can also go to your "Invoices" page once you have logged in to download duplicates. |

Do you accept payment after the issue of an invoice?
No. Payment is by credit card and is required before a campaign goes live. |

Performance |

Do you supply any statistics?
We will email you with a short report at the end of each month's campaign. This will tell you how many time your ad was shown. At this time, we do not have the ability to provide click data.
It's also worth remembering that many of the sites in our network are very specialist. That means that every person coming to those sites is there because they are specifically sourcing products and services like yours. |

Agencies |

Can we use one account for all our clients?
No. You will need to set up an account for each client individually. This is mainly because you can only bid on a keyword once in an account. |

Do you pay agency commission?
Yes. We pay recognised advertising and PR agencies a 10% rebate. This is deducted from the invoice total prior to payment. |
